What began as a discussion around a single sliding door changed into 2 telescoping doors after I visited the home and got a better sense of the space+use.

From a single custom-made recessed brushed aluminum handle, both doors move in across at differing speeds: the rear door moves at about half the speed of the front one as driven by pulleys in the track above.
